If people are educated they can check the government abuse of power, if people remain uneducated the government can rule and oppress as it wishes.

The Trustees and Staff of Prospect Burma regret to announce the death of our Vice-Patron, Lady Gore-Booth, on Thursday 2nd February. Born in Japan, Pat led a full and fascinating life in many parts of the world, however Burma, and her relationship with Aung San Suu Kyi, always had a special place in Pat's heart. She was unaware of the exceptional respect and affection that she herself engendered, and her profound contribution to Prospect Burma's development, her wisdom and her friendship will be greatly missed. We send the deepest condolences to her family. |
