Beyond the Visa Ban: Alternative Education Pathways for Myanmar Students

Prospect Burma was invited to brief UK universities on the current education context in Myanmar, and provide a series of recommendations for how UK institutions can widen access to higher education for young people at risk in the country.

This briefing follows the 4 March announcement by the Home Office banning new study visas for Myanmar nationals, closing off an aspirational and historically important in-person scholarship pathway.

We are pleased to work with our friends at Mosaik, an organisation committed to expanding access to higher education for displaced and crisis-affected students, to update universities and offer a series of practical and cost-effective next steps.
